Prior to retiring from teaching, Harold Brien explored drawing and painting on his own. Harold incorporated creativity and art in developing programs for Special Education students and joined the Sheffield Art League and participated in workshops in various media. Harold works in watercolors, pastels, pen and ink, oils and mixed media. As an artist, Harold enjoys the experiences of creating art, painting with others, taking lessons and teaching art in Adult Education at Housatonic Valley Regional High School and Geer Village in North Canaan, Connecticut. He helped organizing winter art shows for the Sheffield Art League, now called the Housatonic Art League, for the gallery at Noble Horizons in Salisbury, Connceticut.
